Therapy for Athletes

Athletes carry an immense amount of pressure — to perform, push through, stay disciplined, recover well, nourish their bodies consistently, and hold it all together while doing it.

We can help you with:

  • Performance anxiety

  • REDs and fueling concerns

  • Disordered eating and recovery

  • Compulsive exercise and movement rigidity

  • Burnout, stress, and overall athlete wellness

  • High school and college athlete concerns

  • Life after competition (because that’s real!)

Healing does not have to mean stepping away from sport or movement entirely. Together, we’ll explore a path that supports both your wellbeing and the parts of life that give you meaning, identity, and joy.

We provide therapy for athletes in Boston (in person) and throughout MA & CT (virtually).

  • We recognize that athletes are more than their performance. Together, we'll explore the unique pressures that come with sports, including perfectionism, anxiety, confidence struggles, injury recovery, identity concerns, burnout, and balancing athletics with the rest of your life. Therapy provides a space to strengthen mental skills while also supporting your overall well-being, helping you perform and live in alignment with your values.

  • Definitely! Many people continue to feel the impact of their athletic identity long after they stop competing. Former athletes often navigate challenges such as identity shifts, perfectionism, body image concerns, lingering pressure to perform, changes in relationship with food and exercise, or difficulty adjusting to a new routine and sense of purpose. Therapy can help you make sense of that transition, reconnect with your values outside of sport, and build a more balanced and sustainable relationship with your body, goals, and self-worth.

  • We help athletes develop a healthier, more sustainable approach to fueling by addressing the pressures that often contribute to food and body image concerns, including performance expectations, perfectionism, and sport culture. Together, we'll work toward more flexible eating patterns, improved body trust, and a greater understanding of how adequate nutrition supports both mental health and athletic performance. We may also explore the impact of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), helping you recognize how under-fueling can affect recovery, energy, mood, hormones, and overall well-being.

  • Absolutely. Student athletes face unique pressures both on and off the field. We provide support for performance anxiety, stress management, perfectionism, body image concerns, eating disorders, injury recovery, burnout, and the challenges of balancing sports, school, and everyday life.
