Lacey Vogel, LMHC, LPC

Eating Disorder and Trauma Therapist, Supervisor

I am Lacey (she/her). I decided to become a therapist in college when I was competing for my university’s cross-country and track & field teams; I saw firsthand how harmful disordered eating could be — and how little understanding existed about eating disorders. I felt a strong pull to help others and create change. After over a decade working as a therapist, supervisor, and clinical training specialist in eating disorder treatment centers, I founded LV Mental Health Counseling.

I love being a therapist and an educator and am passionate about supervision and trainings. Therapeutically, I’m active in the room and will help you notice patterns, make connections, and explore what may be keeping you stuck—while also offering practical support and tools when needed. I like to be direct, but will always lead with compassion and care. I treat everyone’s story with curiosity and respect.

Outside of the office, I recharge by reading, hiking with my boxer-mix rescue dog Iggy, and watercolor painting. I also enjoy learning and am making my way slowly — but surely — through all these books!

I’m so grateful for this work.

  • I specialize in:

    • Trauma & CPTSD

    • Eating disorders/disordered eating

    • Athlete mental health & compulsive exercising

    • Relationship difficulties

  • My work is grounded in principles from Relational Cultural Therapy, mindful self-compassion, and exposure therapy. I use a trauma-informed and emotion-focused approach. I believe that when we put words to our emotions, we create space to better understand our inner world—and that often transforms how we relate to the world around us.

I am trained in the following evidence-based treatments:

    • EMDR

    • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

    • Unified Treatment for Eating Disorders

    • B.A. in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, MO (2012)

    • M.A. in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University’s School of Medicine (2015)

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor in MA (#10384)

    • Licensed Professional Counselor in CT (#9689)
